Traditionally, diagnosis and treatment of cancer are split among three specialties:
North Star Lodge combines them in
a single, unique outpatient facility. More importantly, through innovative
design and careful attention to details like natural light and interior space,
we are able to offer an environment conducive to healing.
Soft, earth tone colors, use of natural rock, cascading waterfalls and mountain
lodge design offer an escape from the traditional, clinical-looking medical
facility.
The name, North Star Lodge, came about as we considered how families going through treatment of cancer are literally refocusing their lives, navigating new lands. In a world turned upside down, what one thing could be considered constant? Navigators, of course, guide themselves by the North Star.
With North Star Lodge, we created a healing environment that offers peace, warmth and comfort to those on the journey. Our vision took the shape and serenity of a mountain retreat. Patients will feel the warmth of the wood in timber beams and log columns; the welcome of a crackling fire in the fireplace and the calming influence of water.
Our community-based comprehensive outpatient cancer care facility is located on Memorial¹s North Campus, just west of Children's Village, at 40th and Castlevale Avenues in Yakima. The 36,000 square foot cancer center is one of the most advanced in the Western United States.
